picnic night

i probably haven't mentioned lately how much i don't miss phoenix.

(dear loved ones not included)
last night, we went to the park for a picnic dinner. it was pretty much like a perfect fall day. except it's july.

it was overcast, cozy, i was wearing a sweatshirt and i was still really chilly.

it was completely fantastic!
it has not escaped my attention that my friends and family in phoenix are facing heat advisories.

was it really so long ago that i was once among them? whining and hating the very existence of deserts everywhere?

anyhow, park picnic night was super fun. squeals of laughter, lots of exercise, and no dishes.

and...

we headed home for a nice cup of hot tea to warm up our insides.

happy summer, everyone!

Wow Stephanie, I had no idea how much you enjoy torturing those of us living here in Phoenix! Thanks for rubbing it in...

That sounds like a perfect day! I love sweatshirt weather, although it's a little crazy that you're having it in July in California! What area are you in again?

DUH, never mind; you just gave me your address...excuse my post-night shift haze of a mind :)

GREAT pictures!

This would have greatly upset me if we were not in San Diego right now. haha. Your fam is adorable and I'm sure it's amazing to have such nice weather all the time! :)

Where do you live and can I move in with you?! I can't complain about Flagstaff weather but my mind often drifts to where I feel my heart truly belongs which is California. I have lived there twice and the Hubs and I often ponder whether it's time to move back (he grew up there, but where to move? Family friendly, no snooty snoots (we lived in very snooty sherman oaks at one point). Someewhere homey but near the ocean...any tips? And no Stephanie, I'm not a stalker at all. Ask Aubrey, she can vouch for me. :)

Well I LOVE the heat. I love sweating in parts of my body I didn't know could sweat. I love feeling like my skin is burning off just walking into church. I love wearing sunglasses everywhere otherwise I'd be blind. I love brown landscaping, large bugs and scary cactus. I love it all. Well... at least I'm trying to convince myself of that ;) Glad you had a super park date!!

Ha. We lived in Phoenix area for 7 years. The heat can just take a hike. Where you are sounds that much better!
Looks like your kids won in that push up contest.
What a fun time!

Sounds AMAZING. Thanks for rubbing it in! ;) No really though, good for you guys getting out of the heat. What are we all still doing here? I truly ask myself this question every single summer. It's just craziness!
